In this article, I’ll explain how you can quickly, safely, and easily buy and sell crypto in Trinidad and Tobago.
Here are the best options.
- Local Market
There are a number of local individuals who buy and sell crypto every day in T&T. Typically, these sellers are able to provide larger amounts of cryptocurrency. I’m always happy to direct local people toward trusted sellers who exchange TTD for crypto.
2. International Cryptocurrency Exchanges
As of June 14th 2022, the last and largest bank, Republic Bank, has stopped their credit cards from working reliably to purchase cryptocurrency from exchanges. At the moment neither Kraken nor Binance works with Republic Bank credit cards or credit cards from any local bank.
Previously, you were able to purchase crypto using a credit card. There were only a few exchanges and websites that worked with T&T credit cards.
My favourite and one that I’ve found to be the most reliable for buying crypto in Trinidad and Tobago was Binance.com.

Many local banks in T&T continue to bar their customers from using their credit cards to purchase cryptocurrency on these sites, possibly out of fear or unawareness of the topic. So don’t be surprised if your card doesn’t work reliably using these exchanges! If you have trouble the first time around, call your bank to have them ‘open your card’ for the transaction you want to make. Alternatively, find persons in the local market who will sell to you.

3. Local Digital Asset Providers
In light of the recent banking restrictions, a number of local businesses have been working to provide access to persons in Trinidad and Tobago wishing to get involved with cryptocurrency and digital assets.
